I'm Karen Richard, a British photographer now living in the Nashville area. I specialize in headshots - they make up over 80% of my business so I get plenty of practice! My clients often start out by telling me they aren't photogenic and being in front of a camera is right up there with a visit to the dentist! My job is to prove them wrong and ensure they get that killer headshot that will "stop the scroll" and help to land them that new client or dream job.
I run a boutique business, focusing on the whole experience not just on the end result. My aim is to make the whole process fun so that I can capture authentic expressions and genuine smiles. I rarely work with more than one or two people in my studio each day so I can take whatever time is needed to make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable, and to provide all the coaching and direction needed to capture you at your best.
is set back from the road in a quiet and scenic location mid-way between Franklin and Thompson’s Station, about 25 minutes drive from downtown Nashville close to I-65, I-840 and Highway 31. The studio is fully equipped with professional quality strobe (flash) lighting from local Nashville company Paul C Buff, and offers a wide range of different backdrops and props. I also shoot on location throughout the middle Tennessee region.
I have a fully mobile studio and offer corporate headshot sessions for companies and groups in the workplace, producing images that are completely consistent with the quality I provide in my studio. I am also able to match backgrounds and style with existing corporate standards so that new staff images are consistent in look and feel and match seamlessly with existing headshots on your website.
If you would prefer outdoor headshots of you would like to capture a few lifestyle portraits after your studio session, no problem! Outside of the studio there are lots of great opportunities for environmental portraits around our 8 acre property, including a vintage 1949 Dodge Coronet, a rustic barn, stone benches, urns and statues, as well as the forest that borders our land. You can see some examples of environmental headshots and lifestyle portraits here.
